Homeopathy is a system of holistic medicine, developed over 200 years ago, that maintains the principle that "like cures like". In other words, a substance that could create symptoms in a healthy body can also cure these same symptoms in an unhealthy body. Homeopathy views symptoms as the body's way of fighting the ailment and unlike traditional medicine, Homeopathy tries to stimulate rather than suppress symptoms, with the goal of strengthening the body's immune system. The remedies are derived from nature in the form of plants, minerals, and certain animal materials and are given in very small dosages.
